One Project Manager for Your Video Program

You work with one Day Translations project manager for your language brief, reviewer questions, and production requirements. We record approved decisions from file review through delivery and use them for names and product terminology throughout your video program.

Readable Subtitles for Multilingual Video Releases

  • A long Spanish subtitle translation cut down to a shorter line that fits the screen at the speaker’s pace.

    Fit to the Screen

We fit your translated dialogue to the screen and the speaker’s pace. We condense longer wording while preserving the instruction, argument, or character’s intent.

  • Three videos using the same approved Spanish term for flow meter, taken from a shared glossary.

    Approved Terms

We maintain your product terminology between demonstrations, training modules, and later recordings. We add your reviewer corrections to the glossary so subsequent videos use the same approved terms.

  • A "Staff Only" door sign in warehouse footage, flagged as screen text and translated as "Solo Personal."

    Screen Text

We identify screen text that carries information absent from your narration. If those graphics need translation, we define that production work separately alongside your subtitles.

Send us your recordings and we will plan the subtitles around where they will play.

Subtitle Options for Your Video Program

Our subtitle translation services cover your recorded business and entertainment video. You receive a defined language scope and delivery method, with related production work listed separately.

  1. Subtitle translation services: a product launch video with Spanish subtitles that adapt an English idiom.

    Foreign Language Subtitles

Through foreign language subtitling, we translate your spoken dialogue for viewers who use another language. You can include corporate presentations, product demonstrations, recorded interviews, training courses, films, documentaries, and television programs.

We adapt idioms and tone for your audience and follow your approved product terminology. We confirm your language pairs and regional variants during scoping.

  2. Factory safety footage captioned with an alarm sound cue and an off-screen speaker label.

    Same-Language Captions

Through closed captioning, we prepare your same-language dialogue with speaker identification and relevant sounds. A caption might identify an off-screen speaker or describe an alarm that changes the meaning of a scene.

Captions and translated dialogue serve different requirements. The World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Success Criterion 1.2.2, requires captions for pre-recorded audio in synchronized media. It excludes clearly labeled media alternatives to text. We define the caption elements needed for your recordings.

  3. A Paris street scene where a "Sortie" sign is subtitled "Exit" for English viewers.

    Forced Narrative Subtitles

Forced narrative subtitling covers essential text and dialogue that viewers would otherwise miss. We translate signs that explain a scene or brief exchanges in another language.

You can choose this option when most of your recording already uses your audience's language. We identify the elements needing subtitles with you before production, rather than commissioning a full dialogue track.

  4. A video with embedded Spanish subtitles next to separate SRT files for Spanish, French and German.

Separate Subtitle Files or Embedded Video

You receive separate subtitle files, subtitles embedded into your finished video, or both, according to the agreed scope. Separate files let your distribution platform offer selectable language tracks. Embedded subtitles remain visible in the picture.

SubRip Text (SRT) is one available delivery format. We check your other format requirements against the destination platform before production. When you need translated graphics, our audiovisual translation team coordinates that work alongside your subtitles.

You can include surrounding lessons and assessments through our eLearning localization service when your course needs broader adaptation. Voice-over and dubbing form a separate audio scope when you also need spoken translation.

Tell us which subtitle outputs and related production work you need for your videos.

Translation, Timing, and Playback Checks

We review your translated dialogue alongside the recording, checking the source transcript, subtitle timing, and finished playback.

  1. Meaning and Terminology

We assign a native-speaking linguist to translate your dialogue using the transcript and video. A second linguist reviews meaning, tone, and terminology before subtitle production. We then check the technical playback separately.

Video context matters. An abbreviation that reads correctly in a transcript might refer to a label on screen or a product demonstration. We compare those references with your recording and send unresolved questions to you through your project manager.

  2. Reading Speed and Line Breaks

We time your translated lines to the recording and adjust breaks around readable phrases. We condense longer translations carefully, especially when the speaker moves quickly between instructions.

We apply the requirements for your agreed distribution destination. Netflix’s Timed Text Style Guide applies to Netflix deliveries, alongside its language, timing, and file-specific requirements.

  3. Final Playback Review

We watch your finished version with audio and subtitles together, checking synchronization, line breaks, and interference with essential screen text.

Before handover, we confirm that your subtitle output matches the video version used for production.

How We Manage Your Subtitle Translation Project

We coordinate each stage of your subtitle production. Your agreed brief defines the recordings, review responsibilities, and handover, and you send questions through one project contact.

  1. What We Need From You

Send us the recordings or samples, the target languages, your release date, and the platform. Include any existing scripts, terminology references, and the name of your reviewer in the same brief.

We assess your audio clarity, available source text, and required outputs. We flag missing information and prepare your production proposal. You receive the scope and pricing before work begins.

  2. Translation and Subtitle Production

We prepare a time-coded source through our transcription team when you need one. We translate and revise your dialogue using the glossary, then time the approved wording to your recording.

We collect questions about names, unclear audio, and specialist terms through your project manager. You return answers through the same contact, without managing separate conversations with each linguist.

  3. Review, Delivery, and Updates

We check your finished version in the player before delivery. You receive the agreed subtitle files, embedded video, or both, with the naming required for distribution.

Your final handover identifies the approved video version and its language files. For an ongoing program, we carry your approved reviewer decisions into the reference record for later recordings.

Share your release schedule so we can coordinate translation, production, and review.

Security for Unreleased Video and Internal Recordings

We agree on confidentiality terms and the file-transfer route with you before production. Your engagement identifies the files and access needed to handle unreleased media and internal recordings.

You can access security documentation and agreement templates through our Trust Center. Your approved engagement terms govern handling of the project files.

What Determines Your Subtitle Translation Price

  1. We price your recordings and the required production tasks. Video length, language versions, audio clarity, and source-text preparation affect your scope. Translated screen graphics and voice recording add separate work.

  2. You receive a quote identifying your subtitle deliverables, review stages, and delivery schedule. For a library or series, we assess the recordings together to price the defined work. If you add recordings or change production requirements, we prepare a revised estimate.
